FAQ
-
What exactly is Archery Games?
At Archery Games we run Archery Tag events for groups who want a safe, high-energy combat archery experience. You use modified recurve bows and foam-tipped arrows to compete in fun, structured game modes. It’s like dodgeball… but with bows and arrows.
-
Is it safe?
Yes! We use patented Global Archery equipment (no cheap knock-off gear) and full-face masks. Our games prioritise safety, teamwork, and inclusivity. We have an extremely low injury rate compared to paintball - no welts or lasting bruises here.
-
What ages can play?
Archery Tag (the combat game) is for both adults and kids aged 12+, and our Stick It Targets are for 6 and up. We tailor the experience for teens, adults, corporate teams, and mixed-age groups.
-
How many people do we need to book?
Most events run best with 10–20 players, but we can cater for larger groups, and even events with 100+ people. Every year we host Archery Tag games for upwards of 500 people across a weekend at The Blacktown Medieval Fayre.
-
How long does a session go for?
Events are typically 90 minutes, which includes a safety briefing, gear fitting, practice shots, and Archery Tag gameplay. We’ve perfected the time length over 11+ years; 1 hour means players miss out on game time after instruction and practice time, and 2 or more hours leaves groups hot, sweaty, and exhausted!
-
What should players wear?
Comfortable activewear and enclosed shoes. We recommend avoiding loose jewellery or bulky clothing.
-
Does it hurt if you get hit?
You’ll be pleased to know it’s significantly gentler than paintball! Most players are surprised how little it hurts and that the sudden ‘shock’ of the first hit subsides very quickly. After that, it just feels like a soft boxing-glove tap.
-
Where can we play?
We have a home ground in Glenwood 2768 on a tennis court, and we are fully mobile too. We can come to parks, courts, sports centres, halls, gyms, school ovals, and event venues across the Hills District, Sydney and beyond.
-
Do you run corporate team-building sessions?
YES! Corporate bookings are one of our specialties. We focus on connection, teamwork, communication, and fun. Our aim is to get your staff together, off screens and tools and re-connected.
-
Do you go to schools or run incursion programs?
Absolutely. We run safe, structured incursions for primary and high schools, and we tailor them to learning outcomes like teamwork, resilience, and communication.
-
What if our group has a mix of fitness levels?
No problem. Our game modes are designed for all abilities, and players can move at their own pace. We’re also known for inclusive, emotionally intelligent facilitation.
-
Can newbies with no archery experience play?
75% of players are complete beginners! We teach everything step-by-step in the safety briefing and practice round.
-
What happens if it rains?
If you’ve booked our home court, we will discuss wet-weather options with you. For mobile events, it depends on the venue. We’re flexible and will help you plan a backup.
-
What size space do you need to play?
Ideally 20 × 10m, or a tennis court. We often use basketball courts, indoor halls, or school ovals. If unsure, send us a photo of your space and we’ll let you know!
-
Do you run kids birthday parties?
Yes! Kids LOVE it. We run fast-paced, structured games that keep everyone safe and engaged. They need to be 12 or older to play Archery Tag, otherwise look at our Stick It Targets and Hoverball Range.
-
How fit do you need to be?
If you can jog lightly, duck behind barriers, and have fun, you’re good to go. We adjust the session to suit your group.
